The shop is a hive of activity at the moment and the summer
flowers and plants available are truly wonderful even if the weather isn't! Whether one
wants them for a vase on the kitchen table, in a gift wrapped bouquet or fresh
flower arrangement we can cater to any request. Just ask :)
The Flower Shop had two fabulous weddings this week, the
requirements were almost totally different but equally brilliant. Our first wedding of the week was Sunday, located at the bride’s
house in Edgware. We prepared as much as we possibly could on the Saturday but
the rest was arranged and finalised on site Sunday morning.
Our customer required 4 beautiful white pedestals; the
brides shower bouquet and the Chuppah. For those that don’t know, a Chuppah is a
canopy under which a Jewish couple stand during their wedding ceremony. From a florists perspective, it can be decorated in many different ways and in this instance;
the requirements were to include white dendrobium orchids, white roses and
gypsophila to create a fluffy, magical arrangement.
In all its glory, I think this Chuppah is truly stunning!...
We created beautiful floral gardens at the base of the
Chuppah to complete the look! A gorgeous combination of dendrobium orchids, eucalyptus, stock and lysimachia to compliment both the Chuppah and the pedestal arrangements.
Our second wedding this week was at a beautiful venue,
Botley Mansions, near Chertsy in Surrey.
Our bride was brilliant, she knew exactly what she wanted in
the sense the she wanted bright, bold colours and LOTS of gerberas in the table
arrangements and bridal flowers in contrast to pastel shades in the ceremony room. We included wonderful, red and yellow roses, sunflowers,
blooms, alchemilla mollis, thlaspi, cerise gerberas and purple germini in both
the high and low table arrangements. Take a look....
I think the bride was right to go bright and
bold in this room; they truly stand out and match the chair ties! Wonderful! :)
1 bridal shower bouquet, 7 bridesmaid posies to match and 1 Buzz Lightyear waiting in the wings!!
The ceremony room required 2 pedestal arrangements and the Chuppah. We put the Chuppah structure up from scratch on site and then decorated and attached the floral arrangements and ruscus garland. Beautiful summer flowers were included in the Chuppah, the likes of hydrangea, white roses, astilbe, white peonies, delphinium, pale pink campanula bells and germini. Brilliant!
For now, enjoy the weekend and thanks for visiting our blog so far,
Holly and The Flower Shop team :)
