Summer is a Riot of Colour!

What’s not to love about the Summer season? The flowers available are truly wonderful so come in and grab a bunch! Delphiniums, Peonies, Hydrangeas, Scabiosa, Astrantia…. The list is almost endless! Dutch and English flowers at their best!

So what have we created recently with such gorgeous ingredients!?

Well straight off the website a specific arrangement was picked for two separate corporate functions at The Grove Hotel! Just like buses, when you want one, two come at the same time! J So first up last week, 7 summer bowl arrangements were requested for The Ivory Suite alongside 2 wonderful entrance vases! Bright, rich summer colours made up with Hydrangea, Alliums, Cymbidium Orchids and Celosia are perfect!

Later that week and for a separate occasion, 30, yes 30 summer bowls were required for a more informal tone, a barbecue held in The Grove’s gardens and The Amber Room. Fabulous flowers and lots of fun had by all!

The weekend to follow we had a wedding in The Grove's Donneraile Room! The colour scheme was white with a pop of orange which worked really well!

Take a look at the bridal flowers!...

Alongside the bridal bouquet we arranged 4 high arrangements and 5 low table centres in mirrored cubes. The flower selection was wonderful, the likes of Vanda Orchids, Orange Naranja Roses, Peach Avalanche Roses, Campanula, Asclepia and Alchemilla Mollis. Lovely!

Next up, 2 gorgeous summer pastel table arrangements were requested for The Grove Hotel along with 2 summer hand tied gifts, all ready and waiting to be delivered!

Lastly, a host of colourful and bright flowers, Gerberas, Blooms, Miss Piggy Roses and Celosia were the order of the day for an upcoming Bar mitzvah. A high arrangement and two cubes to match were going to Luton Hoo on Sunday for a fun filled day!

Lots on the agenda folks, so keep your eyes peeled for our latest news and floral arrangements…

Over and out for now,

Holly  :)

Birthday Bumps and Wedding Cheer!...

Are you ready for a bumper catch up?... I hope so! The Flower Shop team have been nonstop over the past couple of weeks with lots of fabulous events going on, lots of fun and lots and lots of flowers so let’s begin!

On separate occasions we had the pleasure of decorating St James’ Restaurant, Bushey for a couple of birthday lunches. First up we arranged 11 terracotta pot arrangements to be dotted along long dining tables. A wonderful selection of summer flowers in shades of lilac and pink were the order of the day. The likes of Hydrangea, Peonies and Roses were used while a touch of lime brings it alive!

On a different day, St James’ played host to another birthday lunch. For this we arranged 3 leaf bowls full of gorgeous seasonal flowers. How wonderful are those Roses and Sweet Peas?!

If you dare to share, terracotta pots and leaf bowl arrangements are perfect for guests to take home after! :)

It’s safe to say, romance is alive and well in Hertfordshire! 1 of 3 weddings in the past couple of weeks was held at The Laura Ashley Hotel, The Manor, Elstree (http://www.lauraashleyhotels.com/themanorelstree/default-en.html ). It was a delightful, pretty wedding in shades of blue and white comprising of late Spring and Summer flowers.  An assortment of pots on each table played host to the likes of Hydrangea, Peonies , Eustoma, Muscari and Tulips!

A beautiful arrangement made up of Delphiniums, Roses, Peonies and Agapanthus paves the way for a romantic registry table/top table, topped off with hurricane lamps and candles!

On the same weekend, we catered for a chic white Rose wedding at The Grove Hotel. Chic with a capital C!... White Roses made up the bridal flowers, registry table and table centres! ...Attractive, elegant and perfect for The Grove’s Mansion rooms!

Most recently a spectacular marquee was set up at Shenley Cricket Ground (http://www.shenleycricketcentre.co.uk/?menu=home&page_id=12) for our 3rd wedding. A fabulous wedding with no stones left unturned!

Our role was to design and create 6 high arrangements, 5 low table centres, the top table flowers, bridal flowers and thank you bouquets! The colour palette on this occasion was white, palest pinks and silvery grey. Lovely!

Gorgeous Sweet Avalanche Roses make up both the brides and bridesmaid bouquets. All packed up and ready to deliver! :)

The top table was simply beautiful! An assortment of pots, gorgeous seasonal flowers, tea lights and petals make for a romantic setting!

The high and low table centres were similar in flower content and complimented the top table. The likes of Hydrangeas, Avalanche Roses, Peonies and Eustoma were the ideal ingredients for stunning arrangements. Eucalyptus was the perfect choice for the silvery grey element!

We supplied the Sweet Avalanche Roses but the rest was up to the cake decorator! It looks brilliant!… Can you guess how many Roses were used?!

What a special time, it’s truely a pleasure to be involved in such lovely occasions! Here here to the happy couples and birthday bumps for the birthday girls! :D

Thanks for reading and until next time,

Holly :)

A G Hendy & Co Home Store...

There’s a new addition to Shops and People We Love! A G Hendy & Co Home Store is a hidden gem in the town of Old Hastings, South Coast of England.

The vintage trend is taken a step further in the form of an old Victorian store, atmospheric in nature and choc full of hardware and home ware objects. It’s a step back in time, nostalgic and most definitely an exciting and interesting retail destination. A must see!
