Pretty in Pink...

So business as usual at The Flower Shop after a couple of days off for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend which by the way I hope everyone enjoyed! A few ZZZzzzzzz later and I am a little less zombie like! :)

April really is a lovely time of year which I believe is reflected in the selection of flowers available. Alongside longer and (hopefully) sunnier days, April brings a plethora of blooms, with Spring flowers readily available while hints of the Summer season are nudging through. It is almost a merging of seasons with the likes of Stocks, Peonies and Hydrangeas becoming more accessible.

… And look what we can make with such gorgeous ingredients! A Spring basket arrangement ordered especially for a VIP customer in Belgravia!...

Arguably the best of both worlds so no wonder April weddings are so popular! For today’s blog post I must share with you a gorgeous wedding for a lovely bride that took place recently at The Grove Hotel.  The theme was dusky pink shades and white and I believe the pictures speak for themselves so take a look! :) ...

The bridesmaid posies and bridal bouquet are all boxed up a ready to go! A wonderful combination of dusky pink Roses, white Avalanche Roses and spray Roses create the desired look!

Bridal posie made up with Roses

Now onto the ceremony room with what I’d call a brideseye view!! Ready to walk down the aisle and you are faced with beautiful floral arrangements decorating the length of the aisle with hurricane lamps in between! I think the chair covers match perfectly too!

Such a romantic display! The pedestal arrangement and the registry table include everything from Sweet Peas to Orchids!

The high table arrangements are made up with wonderful seasonal flowers! 8 in total including pretty pink Peonies, Cymbidium Orchids, a selection of Roses and Hydrangeas! The Guelder Rose is fab for a touch of zingy lime!

The top table was made up of generous floral clusters, that of fragrant Sweet Peas, scented Hyacinths and Stocks to name but a few.  Delicate, dreamy and divine springs to mind and perfect for guests to take home if permitted!

A fabulous day had by all and our very best wishes to the newlyweds! It was a pleasure to be part of your special day!

Until next time,

Holly :)

A Mammoth update from a Marathon Weekend...

And breathe….. Forgive me for not posting for a couple of weeks now but it has been a bumper time at The Flower Shop! Catching our breath from the Mother’s Day weekend has been a challenge as before, during and after have seen a whole host of events for The Flower Shop to accommodate for! A busy time but brilliant time for us!

But first things first, a HUGE THANK YOU to our wonderful customers during such a busy period and for choosing us for your special gift this Mother’s Day!  The Mother’s Day period was a success with wonderful bespoke gifts being made, 5000 tulips sold, a shop full of orders to collect and 10 drivers to help out! Which came in handy as along with our sister shop in Watford, The Flower Shop team delivered almost 1000 floral gifts!

Would you believe we had wedding on the Saturday too?! Beginning in St William of York Church in Stanmore and then onto Shendish Manor, the wedding was a delight! For this we created 4 pedestal arrangements, 2 vase arrangements, the bridal bouquet and bridesmaid’s posies alongside the button holes and corsages. Fabulous!

As a new week begun, there was no time to rest and to be honest it was properly best to keep moving after a marathon weekend! The Monday required us to cater 15 fish bowl arrangements for The Bank of America function at The Grove Hotel. For this they required a great mix of purple and pink Tulips! The look brilliant en mass!

A few days later and Wednesday saw us back at The Grove Hotel to deliver 3 table centres for a Coca-Cola function. The design was up to us as long as the flowers were red, so for this we incorporated red Amaryllis, Tulips and Ranuculus! Fresh, seasonal and fab!

We also created 15 pretty terracotta pot arrangements for a Watford Hospital Function held at Watford Football Club, hence the colours of red and yellow. Don’t you just love Mimosa!

So if you’re still with me folks, let’s step back in time, just before the Mother’s Day weekend, we had a beautiful Spring wedding at The Grove Hotel. Seasonal flowers in purple and lilac shades were required for an assortment of pots that would decorate the base of the Blossom vase. It’s a pleasure to use fresh Blossom from Covent Garden Flower Market and fortunately the weather held out so it was perfect for the day!

Hydrangea, Freesia, Hyacinths and Roses

St James’ Restaurant, Bushey is a lovely setting for a party. Here we decorated the room for a 40th birthday function with pink, purple, lilac and lime seasonal flowers arranged in mirrored cubes.

A lovely arrangement consisting of Hydrangea, Roses, Gerbera, Viburnum and Vanda Orchids

Talk about flowers fit for a Princess!... The HRH Princess Royal in fact! We were honoured to be asked by one of our customer to create a beautiful posie for HRH Princess Anne for her visit to the ‘South West Herts Narrowboat Project to see the work of the volunteers who have maintained the narrowboats.’

A gorgeous posie of lilac Roses, Sweet Peas, Lily of the Valley and Nigella! BEAUTIFUL!

Hot off the press, an article from The Watford Observer!
