Recent Events at The Grove Hotel...

Located in Hertfordshire, The Grove Hotel isn't called London’s Country Estate for nothing. If you haven’t yet been, I recommend to put it on the ‘to do’ list! As one of the country’s leading hotels, you can be sure its luxury meeting rooms are fit for any occasion and event. From a florist’s perspective, each room makes for an ideal canvas in which to design floral arrangements suitable for any given circumstance. 

At The Flower Shop, we have the pleasure of catering floral arrangements for many private functions held at The Grove Hotel. We thrive on being diverse and flexible in order to create the right setting and atmosphere for each individual event. Alongside usual shop duties, over the last week we have created some lovely designs for corporate and birthday events, so if you’re sitting comfortably I would like to share them with you! :) 

So first up we were in the beautiful Donneraile Room.  As stated on The Grove’s website, this is an impressive and intimate room, ‘set in the heart of the 18th century mansion.’ For this occasion, 5 wonderfully white cube arrangements were the order of the day to act as a runner along the table.

Wednesday saw a mid-week function made up of 11 Hurricane lamp arrangements complete with tea lights and Echeveria Succulents! Suitable for male clientele, it was super smart!

Next up, we had 2 birthday parties in The Ivory Suite on Sunday to prepare for and both were seasonal, scented and splendid! An exclusive room with an entrance into the gardens, The Ivory Suite is an ideal setting for a birthday lunch and with a fabulous colour palette of pinks, purples and lime green to design with, it was a pleasure to do. The selection of flowers couldn't be prettier!...

Later that day, in the same room, the criteria were to create 6 arrangements including colours of green, yellow, white and a hint of orange. So for this we combined Cymbidium Orchids, Mimosa, Ranuculus, Roses, Phlox and Viburnum beautifully arranged in leaf bowls. Leaf bowls make ideal containers for which guests get to take the whole arrangement home after the event. Perfect!

Next up we designed 4 table centres for a corporate function in the Donneraile Room. Talk about lush and plush! For this we needed to combine the colours silver, white, green and a hint of orange. So for this we included seasonal flowers like Hydrangea, Viburnum, Eustoma and Cymbidium Orchids arranged in a silver bowls to tick all the boxes.  I think they look brill! :)

On a different note, we finished off the week with a fabulous order of 100 mixed Roses to one lucky lady!

A Tour Around the Store...

Most of us have heard of the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words”… well working with this notion, I thought for this post I’d share recent photographs of the nooks and crannies of The Flower Shop Bushey.  

For those that haven’t yet visited us, I thought I’d give you a teaser into The Flower Shop environment from which you can gain an idea of our style, creativity and our ethos - “Working with flowers, plants and imagination.” Whatever your reason or occasion for coming to The Flower Shop, we always strive to enthuse and gratify ever customer and to make one’s experience with us a pleasing one.

So first off, our double fronted shop window is ever changing, more or less on a weekly basis – changing with the seasons, the trends and occasions. As Spring is finally here, this week one half of the window hosts the most fabulous Cherry Blossom branches and potted Lily of the Valley. The other half boasts Spring Planted arrangements in an assortment of containers while the urn displays magnificent Magnolia branches! NB: Feel free to purchase :)

            

We always have a lovely selection of indoor planted arrangements. The Phalaenopsis Orchid Plants make marvellous gifts… impressive, long lasting and they thrive on neglect! So just sit back and enjoy! :)

The Shop is home to many treasures, old and new, contemporary and rustic, I’m sure there is something for everyone!  Jugs, terracotta pots, jam jars, hearts and lanterns …. the list is almost endless! Items such as these can make a  perfect accompaniment to your floral gift!
